9-1-1 Operations Center: Getting you help when you need it

The Alcorn County E-911 Emergency Communications Center provides countywide 911 emergency call-taking services. The County 911 Center provides emergency dispatching for the Alcorn County Sheriff’s Department, Corinth Police, Corinth Fire Departments and Magnolia Emergency Medical Services. The 911 Center also provides communications and dispatching services to 9 county volunteer Fire Departments which are also First Responder Certified for Medical Emergency Calls.

The information displayed on this page is an overview of the operations of the Alcorn County E-911 Emergency Communications Center, which is the heart of the public safety system for Alcorn County and the City of Corinth. The center operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is responsible for answering emergency 9-1-1 calls and non-emergency phone lines. Communications personnel also dispatch Police, Fire and Emergency Medical Services to the citizens of Alcorn County.


The call taker console contains four computer monitors that consist of:

  • An advanced phone system that allows the call taker to view who's calling and from where they are calling, as well as the ability to obtain frequent numbers called.
  • An advanced radio system that allows the call taker to dispatch the appropriate agency to calls of service for police, fire, medical and Office of Emergency Management responses.
  • A computer paging system that allows the call taker to dispatch all the volunteer fire departments within Alcorn County.
  • An internet based emergency notification system (Outbound 911) that allows the call taker to notify the public within minutes, by telephone, in the event of a city or county wide emergency.
  • An in office, self contained database that contains all structures (residential and business) within Alcorn County along with individual address information that may be necessary to have in the event of an emergency.
  • An in office, self contained database of all forms required to document all emergency calls and times of responders.

The mission of Alcorn County E-911 Emergency Communications Center is to respond to the needs of the citizens of Alcorn County by providing the highest quality of service and to coordinate professional, efficient and effective communications with the responding law enforcement, fire & emergency medical services.
